Yamaha, Honda, Triumph Show Off New Motorcycles in EICMA Milan 2012

Triumph shows off its new Tiger Explorer, a 1215cc three-cylinder adventure touring bike, which claims 135 bhp and 89 ft./lbs. The all new engine features ride-by-wire electronic system, which allows cruise control, switchable traction control and switchable ABS all as standard equipment.

Yamaha unveiled their new scooter, the TMax, at a theater in Milan. One of their best sellers worldwide, the new TMax features a 530cc liquid-cool twin-cylinder four-valve four-stroke that puts out about 46.5 hp at 6750 rpm. Dry weight is 478 lbs.

Honda, at the same time, had the world premiere of the Crosstourer, a 1237cc V4 that mixes sport bike and adventure touring features. The engine, the largest ever for a Honda adventure sports touring machine, is mated to Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission that has three riding modes; a choice of manual gear shifting and two fully automatic modes, one for general use (D-mode) and another for high performance riding (S-mode).

EICMA Bike Review: 2012 KTM 690 Duke

The 2012 KTM 690 Duke is powered by the world's most powerful single-cylinder engine in production, with output expected to be close to 70hp, as KTM claims

Updates include a side-mounted exhaust instead of the previous version’s underslung silencer, ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and weight savings from a new manufacturing process for the structural fairing and subframe.

The flat-faced headlight and graphics also gives the new 690 a similar design language as the smaller-displacement 125 and 350 Dukes.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that KTM will bring the 690 Duke to North America. KTM has dropped both the Duke and the Super Duke from its American lineup while the now-infamous leaked Powerpoint slide from KTM’s North America dealer meeting does not list the 690 Duke for 2012 to 2014.

Review: Suzuki Hayabusa 2012

The Suzuki Hayabusa was designed for serious sport riders who will settle for nothing less than the best. Its combination of unsurpassed power, crisp handling and superb aerodynamics creates the ultimate sport bike. For 2012, the Hayabusa is available with new graphics and colors - Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Glacier White.

The Hayabusa was called former GSXR1300; it has a 1340 cc engine churning out 194 bhp that can boost it to 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds Note.
That would be 96.5 kilometers per hour in 2.6 seconds. Top speediness is and by design restricted 299 kmph.

Introduced in 1999, the Suzuki Hayabusa is the fastest, most powerful production sportbike motorcycle available today. Named after a swift flying falcon, the original Hayabusa was capable of reaching a speed of almost 200 mph. It was designed to compete directly against the now defunct Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12 and now ZX-14 motorcycles.

The retailing price is around US$13,999.

EICMA 69th in 2011 starts Today (Nov 8th) - The World's Biggest Motorcycle show

EICMA is the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo e Motociclo e Accessori, or "International Exposition of Bicycles and Motorcycles and Accessories". It's held each year near Milan, Italy, in the massively huge Fiera Milano expo center outside of the suburb of Rho, Italy.

EICMA is the largest motorcycle trade show in the world and all of the major manufacturers will be there with many brand new announcements and product releases. This is the time for those manufacturers to show off their best and latest products every year. However, I wonder if the European credit crisis, especially Greece and Italy, affects the motorcycle business in Europe overall.

There are around 610 exhibitors in few buildings and expected to arrive from 37 countries. It will take 135,000 square meters of display space to hold everything! Attendance of approximately 500,000 people is expected during the week.

MotoGP Fatal Accident Again - Marco Simoncelli dies after MotoGP crash in Sepang

Italian rider Marco Simoncelli has died after a horrific crash at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang.

This fatal crash accident in Motogp also happened last year at around the same month to Japanese racer, Showa Tomizawa...

The race in Sepang was stopped on lap two when Simoncelli's bike veered across the track at turn 11 into the path of Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.

The 24-year-old had his helmet knocked off and was hit by both other riders. American rider Edwards also fell and dislocated his shoulder - while Simoncelli's fellow Italian Rossi was able to return to the pits.

Simoncelli lay motionless on the track after the impact, while the race was immediately red-flagged.
Medical director Michele Macchiagodena said Simoncelli suffered a "very serious trauma to the head, to the neck and the chest".

The race was cancelled amid confusion in the grandstand, with fans throwing bottles to show their initial displeasure.
