Fun Motorcycle for young riders in the market: KTM 125 Duke Powerparts Bike

KTM 125 Duke is to engage young riders with the brand’s “Ready to Race” lifestyle. This bike is one of the favourite bikes among young riders with its style and looking.

A satisfied customer said "It had great brakes and it was really easy to handle because it’s so small. For example it was easy to get some speed, step on the back brake and do a 180 and head back the other way without putting a foot down. Aalways a good bike test I reckon as you get an idea of the weight, geometry, brakes, clutch and throttle response. An excellent beginner bike for sure. Of course it is underpowered after riding a 690 but I guess you could still have a lot of fun on this bike. A slightly bigger engine and it would be REALLY fun."

KTM Motocross Review: 2012 KTM 450SX-F

The 2011 KTM 450 is a powerhouse and, for obvious reasons, the 2012 is as well. The two years are not totally identical. KTM has made several changes in the right direction to address issues that some of us experienced.

The most obvious is the new single spring clutch. The basket is a one-piece unit, meaning the outer gear and the basket is all one chunk of carved-out steel. The inner unit has a single diaphragm spring compared to several coil springs.

Also, the new 450 SX-F model is now equipped with Dunlop MX51 tires.

The pricing is currently around US$8799.

Ural M70 - 70th Aniversary Edition of The War War II - the Battle of Stalingrad

Ural, the legendary Russian manufacturer of sidecar motorcycles celebrates its 70th anniversary with two special edition models -M70 with sidecar and M70 solo - The 30 units of M70 will cost US$14,200 and the 10 units of M70-Solo are US$9,150 each. They dedicate the Anniversary Edition M70 to those who built the first M72's.

It was a brutally cold November of 1941. The Nazis were at the outskirts of Moscow, preparing for the all-in assault on the Soviet capital. At the same moment, in a small town of Irbit, located on the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains, 2000kms away from Moscow, a freight train arrived with the machinery, materials, and drawing boards. With this train came people with an impossible task to build a factory in the middle of a Siberian winter and produce combat sidecar motorcycles for the Red Army.

The first M72's built by the Irbit Factory were sent to the front lines in February of 1942 and were used by the troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.

After the war the factory continued producing motorcycles with sidecars and built over 3 million outfits. People who laid the foundation of the factory would have never imagined that 70 years later this factory would remain the only sidecar motorcycle manufacturer in the world and Ural would become a cult motorcycle.

Ferruccio Codutti Ducati Naked Bike S4 - Aluminum Body

Ferruccio Codutti’s Ducati Monster S4 makes a radical departure from the Ducati version with its hand-sculpted aluminum entire body. Make it Lighter and Faster!

The Codutti monster gets some serious front suspension, chassis and steering change, with it now steering via a hub steering, a-la-Italjet dragster. The front suspension now gets swing arm treatment with the Codutti monster abandoning Ducati’s USD front forks. Now, with all these changes, Codutti has been a bit hardpressed for space for the radiator.

Ferruccio Codutti took 1 year to build this monster. And the price, of the Codutti Monster, of course, will be stratospheric.

Triumph shows off its new Tiger Explorer, a 1215cc three-cylinder adventure touring bike, which claims 135 bhp and 89 ft./lbs. The all new engine features ride-by-wire electronic system, which allows cruise control, switchable traction control and switchable ABS all as standard equipment.

Yamaha unveiled their new scooter, the TMax, at a theater in Milan. One of their best sellers worldwide, the new TMax features a 530cc liquid-cool twin-cylinder four-valve four-stroke that puts out about 46.5 hp at 6750 rpm. Dry weight is 478 lbs.

Honda, at the same time, had the world premiere of the Crosstourer, a 1237cc V4 that mixes sport bike and adventure touring features. The engine, the largest ever for a Honda adventure sports touring machine, is mated to Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission that has three riding modes; a choice of manual gear shifting and two fully automatic modes, one for general use (D-mode) and another for high performance riding (S-mode).

EICMA Bike Review: 2012 KTM 690 Duke

The 2012 KTM 690 Duke is powered by the world's most powerful single-cylinder engine in production, with output expected to be close to 70hp, as KTM claims

Updates include a side-mounted exhaust instead of the previous version’s underslung silencer, ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and weight savings from a new manufacturing process for the structural fairing and subframe.

The flat-faced headlight and graphics also gives the new 690 a similar design language as the smaller-displacement 125 and 350 Dukes.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that KTM will bring the 690 Duke to North America. KTM has dropped both the Duke and the Super Duke from its American lineup while the now-infamous leaked Powerpoint slide from KTM’s North America dealer meeting does not list the 690 Duke for 2012 to 2014.
