ReplyDeleteI bought this bike last week and it is totally iconic. The riding style has no comparison with 90% of that massive torque arriving at 2000 rpm.
ReplyDeleteSome small corrections, it has 4 valves per cylinder for a total of 8. Top speed is 130 mph which is 207 km/h.
Other points of interest is that it has twin spark plugs per cylinder, and magnificent front brakes with three pots on each side of each disc. It used to be two until 2007.
The engine is a lot more powerful than the Harley Heritage or the Yamaha Warrior but also it revs a lot quicker because 20 kg has been shaved off it, reducing inertia lag - very few reviews mention the benefit of the weight loss to the moving parts.
Remember the AC Cobra - that was an American engine married to an English chassis or body. Total success. Well this is a monster engine married to a racing chassis - completely different concept and great result.
