Kawasaki Superbike: 2013 Kawasaki ZX-14R ABS
The rest of the 2013 Kawasaki ZX-14R remains unchanged from last year’s model. It comes equipped with KTRC traction control system and is powered by 1,441cc liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that features a 4mm longer stroke, reworked cylinder head assembly, polished ports and lighter, stronger pistons.
New optional ABS brakes complement its amazing comfort and usability on the street, and help increase its appeal to a wide range of riders. It has to be tough competing against a machine like the ZX-14R, year after year, and continuous refinements have kept it several steps ahead of the sport bike competition, all while filling enthusiasts’ face shields with wild, ear-to-ear grins.
ZX-14R packs a 1,441cc inline-four that produces significantly more power than any other production sport bike on the planet! Big power delivered smoothly has always been a big Ninja hallmark, so surface-milled combustion chamber shapes and polished intake ports provide maximum flow while working in concert the rest of the induction system. This ultimate Ninja really does come “ported” straight from the factory.
The base price of the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS Sport Bike motorcycle is US$15,999, which is US$2,600 more expensive than the average for all Sport Bike Motorcycles.

Ducati Preview: 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R
For 2013, Ducati has unveiled the R version of its 1199 Panigale. Unveiled at the 2012 EICMA International Motorcycle Show along with the water-cooled 2013 Hypermotard, and the 2013 Ducati Diavel Strada, the 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R is based on the S model.
This is an upgraded version of the sportbike for WSBK Homologation – but comes with new light-weight titanium connecting rods (-1.38 lbs), a lightened flywheel (-1.54 lbs) and the use of carbon-fiber throughout, making it is lighter than its predecessor. The Panigale R has a wet weight of 416.7 pounds.

Ducati Review: 2013 Ducati 848 Evo Corse Special Edition
Ducati has unveiled the special edition of its middleweight sportbike, the Ducati 848 Evo Corse SE. The special editon bike gets with a new, lightweight, aluminium fuel tank and is looking great with a matt black/gray Ducati Corse Development Team colour scheme.
The 848 new aluminium tank reduces the claimed dry weight by 2.2 pounds to 368 pounds as well as increases the Ducati 848 EVO’s fuel capacity by 0.66 gallons to 4.75 gallons.
The 2013 Ducati 848 Evo Corse special edition also features fully adjustable Öhlins rear suspension, Ducati Traction Control and Quick Shift, and upgraded 330mm brake discs with radial-mount Brembo monobloc calipers. The 848 Evo Corse SE sits on lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.
The 2013 Ducati 848 Evo Corse special edition is still powered by the same 90-degree V-Twin Testastretta Evoluzione Twin engine linked to six speed gearbox, delivering 138 hp at 10,500 rpm and 72.3 ft-lb. at 9750 rpm.

KTM has released the second generation KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition motorcycle.
This updated limited edition version has been developed through collaboration with the Red Bull KTM Team and KTM‘s R&D departments in both the U.S. and Austria.
The 2013 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition is modeled after team rider and 2012 AMA 450 National Motocross Champion Ryan Dungey.
Based on the company’s KTM 450 SX-F and is powered by the new-generation 450cc fuel-injected, single-cam, four-stroke engine, for 2013, the limited edition bike features a new electric start system, a redesigned engine case and clutch covers.
KTM also added a map adjustment switch for easy adjustment of the new ignition curves, as well as an hour meter to help track the time between maintenance intervals.

Honda Mugen Shinden Electric Racebike
The 2012 edition of the TT Zero just got a whole lot more interesting. Mugen, the Japanese performance firm who, rather significantly, lists some of its main clients as Honda Motor Co., Honda R&D Co., and Honda Motorcycle Japan Co., announced they would enter the SES TT Zero Clean Emissions Motorcycle Challenge on the Isle of Man a couple weeks ago. Now, Team Mugen has revealed both its electric superbike and rider.
John McGuinness is the chosen one, and with 17 wins on the famed 37.7-mile Snaefell Mountain Course to his name, clearly has more than just a passing knowledge of the world's most deadly asphalt circuit. When he takes to the saddle of the Mugen machine – named Shinden, meaning god of electricity – he will be aiming to be both win the race and make history by being the first to surpass the 100 mile per hour average speed aboard a battery-powered bike. This mark was just missed by Motoczysz in 2011.
Given the close relationship between Mugen and Honda, it had been widely speculated that the entry would be based on the RC-E concept debuted at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. While that bike was, indeed, quite beautiful, Shinden also has much to recommend it. Under the grasped-lightning-bolt paint lies a 3-phase, 90-kW (120.7-horsepower) DC brushless motor with 162 ft lbs of twist cradled in a lightweight twin-spar carbon fiber frame. Its 573-lb curb weight and 370-volt system suggests that it has a battery somewhere in the 14 kWh neighborhood of its competitors.
The entrance of such a high profile team and rider is sure to elevate and add legitimacy to the electric competition at the IoM Tourist Trophy races. It should also concentrate the minds of their American rivals Lightning Motors and MotoCzysz, making victory for the newcomers anything but certain. Suzuki has recently produced its one millionth GSX-R motorcycle and is celebrating this special milestone with a commemorative edition of its flagship sportsbike, the GSX-R1000.
Worldwide there will be 1,985 commemorative editions of the GSX-R1000 available, to celebrate the very first year the GSX-R was born.
The GSX-R legend began in 1985 with the launch of the GSX-R750, the range propelling Suzuki to the forefront of motorcycle racing, making the GSX-R series the flagship of the brand and a favourite amongst professional racers and riding enthusiasts.
From the beginning, Suzuki has constantly redefined the GSX-R range into a super sport line-up that delivers the pure excitement of racing performance.
The introduction of the GSX-R750 changed the world of sportsbikes forever, as the first mass produced race replica, it was a race bike first and a street bike second.
Joining the GSX-R750 was the GSX-R600 and GSX-R1000, which equally dominated racetracks and sales in Australia and internationally.
Since its introduction just over a decade ago, the GSX-R1000 has won multiple championships and filled 1,000cc production based road racing grids worldwide and currently holds the Australian Superbike Champion title.
Ridden by 2009 and 2012 Australian Superbike Champion Josh Waters, four-time New Zealand Superbike Champion Robbie Bugden and also recently retired three-time Australian Superbike Champion Shawn Giles, the GSX-R1000 continues to own the racetrack.
Mechanically, the 2013 Suzuki GSX-R1000 special edition remains similar to the 2012 model, where it comes with a new single-side exhaust system, lighter and stronger pistons and other updated engine internals, big piston forks (BPF) as well as Brembo radial-mount monobloc calipers at the front. The 2013 GSX-R1000 weighs 203kg and comes with power figures northwards of 180bhp.

Ducati celebrates its 20th anniversary with special edition of Monster 696, 796 and 1100 EVO.
Over the small period of life, which started backed in 1992, Ducati has given the breathtaking rides to its fans and now it has become the habit of Ducati.
Marking the 20th anniversary Ducati has announced the availability of its special edition monster in 2013 with various changes including steel trellis bronze frame, engine outer casings gold brake components, champagne front forks, gray swignarm, lower triple clamp and chrome headlamp support.
Ducati will also bring back the ’90s-styled mirrors, seat covers and retro font on the gas tanks and seat covers. Check the gallery of this special edition after the jump.
By the way, this Ducati 696 is the smallest member in the Monster family and is packed with a Desmodue, 696 cc, L-Twin cylinder, air cooled engine which offers a maximum output of 80 hp @ 9000 rpm and 50.6lb-ft @ 7750rpm and is paired with a six speed transmission.
Like its bigger siblings, the Ducati Monster 696 is fitted with the APTC ‘wet’ clutch which improves stability under aggressive down-shifting. Moreover, the bike features the same lightweight tubular steel Trellis frame with aluminium rear sub-frame found at the Monster 1100 and 796 models.
When designing the Monster 696 Ducati’s engineers have spent a lot of time to carefully refine the bike’s ergonomics. Thereby elements like the fuel tank, seat height and the steering lock were especially designed to maximize comfort.
