Japan earthquake: Tokyo Motorcycle Show 2011 canceled

The 2011 Tokyo Motorcycle Show has been canceled in the wake of the devastation left behind by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. The motorcycle fair which was scheduled for March 25th but has been canceled due to the problems the country is facing at present. Power cuts have gone up all over the country as the power lines and other electrical infrastructure was damaged in the tsunami. One of Japan’s nuclear power station was also damaged causing it to shut down.

Roads and railways have also borne the brunt of the waves, thus traffic disruptions is also a common sight. Those who have already bought the tickets for the show will be receiving refunds, according to organizers. Earlier, the Japanese round of the 2011 MotoGP was also canceled sighting similar reasons. The Japanese GP will now be held in October 2nd at the Motegi circuit. The race was earlier scheduled for next month. There are also reports of the race track at Motegi in need of repair following the 9.0 magnitude earthquake.
